What are the necessary documents and what should we pay attention to when we want to go on board?

I would say, Passport, Visa, Seaman’s book, Vaccination records, and Insurance

Well it depends in what role you are boarding the vessel. I am assuming you mean as a crew/staff rather than a passenger. In that case, I would say the following:

  1. Passport/ID (with appropriate visa if you traveling internationally)
  2. Seaman’s Book or Seafarer’s Identification Document (SID) (this one is obvious)
  3. Employment Contract
  4. Vaccination records/health certificates (could be some special conditions depending on where you are traveling)
  5. Travel insurance (this is pretty much standard for any kind of travel)
