Hello everyone, my first posting here
We (@ LUTZ Elevators) are manufacturers of marine elevators for any type of vessels and beside our products we provide services for any brand of marine elevators; repairs, maintenance, trouble shooting, spare parts, refits/upgrades/modernisation and of course the annual inspection (which is mandatory), the 5Y inspection with a load test acc. to international standards such as ISO 8383 and EN 81 and the Classification Societies.
Those services are provided, in ports, during drydocking or even on voyage if required.
In which of the above categories would such services be assigned??. I think in none of above, so a new category for electromechanical equipment installed on board is required.
BTW, shipboard Elevator / Lifts are not class relevant, but fall under ISM and SOLAS requirements. Freight elevators are considered Lifting Appliances and fall under ILO regulations. In summary the flag state (represented by the RO) is the one enforcing fulfillment of elevator regulations.
